The Seven Sisters Dreaming in this region  is a major Tjukurpa (law and stories of Ancestors).   There are strict protocols for imparting this knowledge.
This painting of Rene’s  is unusual for showing the sisters and Wati Nyiru (their male pursuer), as a series of concentric circles.

Rene grew up in the northern range country, then moved to her husband’s country of Docker River (NT)  Based in Mutitjulu now, she is a committed artis and active community member.  A founding member of Walkatjara Arts, her dramatic representation of Uluru is painted on a Qantas jet.  In 2006 she became the chair of Maruku Arts, (based atYulara), following in the steps of her late father, one of the founding members and a key figure in the development of the organisation.

The Certificate of Authenticity with this artwork has been issued by Maruku Arts, including  the information about the artist, photo of the artist and the artwork style and themes.  More detailed information is available on the Certificate.
