Nagarla was born in 1945, and her grandmother taught her to paint.  She is related to the Inkamala family.  

Nangala paints her Dreaming stories which include the snake, goanna and bush tucker dreaming.  

She uses traditional colours and her iconic traditional style is very finely defined dot painting.
